Travel to various domestic and international
market areas to test, evaluate and analyze SW/HW for CDMA and
GSM Mobile Handset Design for projects ranging from 1 week to
3 months in duration.
Daily responsibilities include:
Execution of test cases per
CDMA and/or GSM standards and internal/external specifications,
CDG3 compliance testing on live customer networks
Conducting performance benchmarking
to competitor/reference phones
Call Performance testing using
Mobile Diagnostic Monitors to verify RF and CAI (protocol)
compliance and performance
Testing, problem isolation and
reporting of handset features to QP test engineering standards
Daily and weekly compilation
of various written and verbal reports on the results of testing
Statistical reporting and analysis
Develop test methods for 3G
CDMA handsets and devices
Implementation/adherence to
QP test process/procedures
Prerequisite: BSEE/BSCE or 2+
Years of CDMA/GSM/cellular test experience or equivalent
**MUST have experience
in Hands-on CDMA and/or GSM testing, Hands-on cellular handset
testing or drive testing relating
to handsets, Layer 3 messaging analysis;
Testing of PTT, J2ME, WAP, MMS, and/or 1xEvDO technologies.**
Domestic and International
travel, as well as current passport required. Schedule
flexibility required, in order to accommodate customer's short
notice request for testing. Majority of travel within the Americas.
Must be able to spend periods of
time conducting tests and analyzing data in a moving test vehicle.

as well as in a team situation.
Experience in executing software
protocol, hardware & RF tests on wireless products in varying
commercial infrastructures.
Must have a clear understanding
of the wireless/personal communication development process.
Experience in working with and supporting
engineering. Ability to effectively communicate problem data to
engineering.
Experience with various Diagnostic
Monitor tools such as the Spirent's UDM or Qualcomm's CAIT.
Experience executing CDG Stage II/III,
Call Performance, and Data throughput testing.
Proficient in computer applications
including databases and spreadsheets and word processing.
Must successfully complete QP Certified
Consultant Training course for Field Interoperability Test Engineering.
