QP's Field Test Service has been designed
and developed to assist our carrier and handset manufacturer customers
in ensuring higher quality products to market sooner.
Did you know that QP has performed
over 90 field tests in 2003, and has successfully performed approximately
30 weeks of field testing in just the past 3 months of 2004!
| QP’s
trained and certified Field Test Engineers provide carrier
network Stage 3 FIT (Field Interoperability Testing) for our
handset manufacturer and carrier customers. Stage 3 Field
Interoperability Tests are conducted to ensure Mobile Station
to Base Station Standard (MS-BSS) Interoperability in a field
(over-the-air) environment. Tests performed validate handset
network success in a real world live network environment.
Tests also validate correct roaming hand off coverage. The
service includes validating the handset under test against
a reference platform selected by our handset manufacturer
customer or carrier customer. A portion of the testing is
conducted with QP mobile test equipment "on the road"
(based on the targeted geographical area).

|
| It
is important to understand the difference between QP's Pre-FIT
and FIT services. While the testing conducted is quite similar,
in some cases the same, the process for reporting is very different.
The Pre-FIT service is available to QP's handset manufacturer
customers. In working with any of our customers, including our
handset customers, confidentiality is something we take very
seriously as a company. Test results and test information gathered
from the Pre-FIT service is made available to our handset partner
ONLY. All information obtained during this service is kept confidential
and shared only with our handset partner. |
QP also provides custom field testing
for those customers requiring specific test needs. We will design
test requirements and drive routes applicable to your market areas.

Included in the service is an array
of support services that demonstrate QP's commitment to the success
of your project!
QP Command Central –
Communication and Coordination
QP Command Central manages project
logistics such as flight arrangements, hotels and vehicles. QP also
coordinates and manages the call centers, call center operators
as well as the test vehicle drivers.
In addition, a Field Test Project Manager
is assigned to each field test. The Field Test Project Manager works
in the QP “Command Central” Corporate Office and ensures
that all field test engineers are prepared for testing, tests are
prioritized, equipment is ready, MINs are allocated, issues are
being addressed, and that the customer is communicated to in a timely,
and regular manner throughout the field test cycle.
Consistency of Highly Trained
Resources
Consistency throughout a project contributes
to effectiveness in delivering the service. QP’s Technical
Field Test Training and Evaluation Program are designed to provide
our customers with highly trained resources and a consistent test
methodology from project to project. QP test equipment reflects
this consistency as well. All QP Field Test Engineers are equipped
with the same laptop models and configurations, connectors USB to
Serial hubs, reference handsets and software.
Test Tools
As part of the full service, QP provides
all test tools required to deliver the testing at no additional
fees. This includes equipment, test software, reference handsets,
etc.
Flexibility
One of the biggest challenges in delivering
the field test service is the requirement for extreme schedule flexibility
and the ability and stamina to work long hours in a driving vehicle.
QP steps up to those challenges with
each and every field test.
Knowledge of Drive Routes
QP engineers are familiar with the
test market drive routes provided by Verizon, Sprint (STIC Lab),
as well as drive routes used by Bell Mobility Canada and Telus in
the Toronto area.
QP can also help our customers design
custom drive- routes to suit their specific testing requirements.
QP Field Test Engineers strategically
located
QP’s Travel Field Test Team is
strategically located closer to test markets. This results in saving
our customers time and money when deploying field test engineers
to a test market area.
MIN activations for reference
and test terminals
Once ESNs for the test handsets are
provided, QP will activate the terminals using QP MINs. This will
ensure that the Test and Reference handsets are "paired"
and subsequently hash to the same channel.... a very important factor
when testing. Also each MIN will be provisioned with all the necessary
features required for testing.

The QP service includes
the QP FIT team traveling to varying geographical locations
to support the needs of the FIT project as required by the carrier
company.
QP is proud to be working in partnership with Verizon Wireless©,
and assisting with the testing and reporting against Stage 3
tests included in Verizon Wireless’ FIT Service.
