The QP staff has extensive experience with test case design and
implementation for testing of wireless appliances running over WLAN.
QP has experience testing appliances supporting the 802.11, 802.11a,
802.11b and 802.11g protocols.
QP has developed
an 802.11b Wireless Compatibility lab for use in compatibility testing
for products under test supporting the 802.11b protocol. The QP
lab is kept updated and as new products become available, QP invests
in those products for inclusion to our lab. The lab consists of
Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity™) certified and non-Wi-Fi wireless
access point products, including supported PC cards, such as Cisco
Aironet™ 350, Lucent Agere™, Orinoco™ AP-1000,
Intel PRO™/Wireless 2011, Linksys WAP1™1, D-Link DWL
1000-AP™, SBA 2.4 GIG™, Wireless Networking Kit, 3Com
Airconnect™ and Apple Airport™ Base Station. The QP
test service includes testing to ensure connectivity of your wireless
supported products with various wireless access points and PC cards,
including signal strength testing, security, channel selection and
more.
QP will conduct testing of your product in a variety of wireless
connection configurations including:
- Infrastructure
- Standalone
LAN
- Peer to Peer
(Adhoc)

QP's experience includes test planning, test case design and implementation
for testing application and device compatibility with Bluetooth
enabled devices in the market including but not limited to:
- Bluetooth
enabled peripherals
- Bluetooth
enabled phones
- Bluetooth
enabled wireless access points
QP's testing
includes testing functionality of Bluetooth enabled devices including
sending and receiving information. Applications tested include capabilities
of hosting a 'chat' session via a Bluetooth connection.
Additional examples
of QP's test experience includes:
- Testing of
the Object Exchange or OBEX protocol in the transfer of
information from PDA's to PC's and PDA's to Bluetooth enabled
peripherals and Bluetooth enabled phones.
- Testing Internet
access via a wireless access point through a firewall on the network.
- Testing the
ability to synchronize to a remote PC on a network via a wireless
Bluetooth access point. Testing the connectivity of the Bluetooth
enabled PC to a Bluetooth enabled wireless device, testing the
ability to send and receive mail via Bluetooth and Sync to a remote
PC and validating accurate transfer of information.
- Testing of
data and graphical messaging with Bluetooth enabled phones to
Bluetooth enabled peripherals.
For further
information on QP's Bluetooth related test services, check our QP
Bluetooth Compatibility Test Service.

QP's staff is experienced in test case design and functional testing
of 3rd party BREW (Binary Runtime Executable for Wireless
environment) applications on a variety of Wireless Handsets (e.g.
Sharp© TQCX1 and Kyocera© QCP3035). Our testing includes
interoperability, usability, functionality, error handling and user
experience with 3rd party applications developed for Qualcomm©'s
BREW platform.
QP also provides
testing to ensure that 3rd party BREW applications do not interfere
with standard phone features/functions such as SMS (Short Message
Service).
QP also is very
familiar with and provides testing against the BREW Test Validation
Guidelines published from Qualcomm.

QP provides compatibility testing between a range of IR devices
and peripherals including but not limited to printers, digital cameras,
PDAs, phones, PCs, modems, etc.
- Interoperability
testing and validation of accurate transfer of data
- Connectivity
testing
- Distance
and interference testing
- Synchronization
over IR
- Throughput
and performance testing

A sampling of QP's messaging test experience which spans more than
five years includes:
- Testing paging,
Instant Messaging, and SMS/MMS/EMS protocols.
- Testing messaging
protocols on paging networks since 1998.
- Test experience
across a wide variety of handsets including pagers, PDAs, cellular
phones, and other handheld devices.
- Test experience
across a wide variety of operating systems including, but not
limited to, Palm OS, FLEX OS, Wisdom OS, J2ME,
Symbian©, Pocket PC and Windows CE.
- Test experience
across a variety of networks including, but not limited to, GSM,
CDMA, ReFLEX, Mobitex, DataTAC, Palm.Net,
iDEN.
- Testing of
application functionality and messaging capabilities.
- Testing of
application ability to send and receive messages correctly.
- Testing of
application ability to handle events such as incoming messages
while monitoring potential loss of coverage.
- Testing of
application interoperability with native handset applications.

QP's OBEX (Object Exchange Protocol) testing includes validating
the transfer of information from PDA's to PC's and PDA's to Bluetooth
enabled peripherals and Bluetooth enabled phones.

QP's vast test experience with the wide variety of synchronization
protocols includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Validation
of accurate transfer of data, including syncing of special characters
and international characters.
- Conflict
and record resolution. Example: validating syncing with numerous
modifications, changes and deletions to the same record on the
conduit and the handheld device.
- Testing remote
network synchronization via a wireless Bluetooth access point
between a remote Bluetooth enabled PC to a Bluetooth enabled wireless
device.
- Testing of
network synchronization using 802.11b.
- Stress testing
of the synchronization between conduit and handheld device, or
handheld to handheld. For example, syncing of 5,000+ records through
an IR sync. This also includes data transfer validation.
- Error handling
during a sync. For example, cancellation of the synchronization
process during a network sync via Bluetooth.
- Performance
testing of the synchronization of multiple records. Testing includes
comparative performance testing which involves syncing the same
records through IR, Bluetooth, Network,
and Local synchronizations while tracking and recording performance
results.
- Multi-user
and multi-platform synchronizations.

An example
of QP's WAP experience includes the following:
- WAP testing
across a wide variety of operating systems including, but not
limited to, Palm OS, WisdomOS, J2ME, Symbian©,
Pocket PC and Windows CE.
- WAP testing
across a variety of networks including, but not limited to, GSM,
CDMA, iDEN, etc...
- WAP testing
utilizing handsets supporting CDMA and GSM networks. An example
of the type of testing conducted is sending and receiving graphical
messages from the phones or PDA devices to the client's server.
Testing validates a successful connection after entering a valid
WML address or IP address on the phone.
- Link and
content checking.
- Error handling
(e.g. invalid data entry/authentication).
- Performance
testing including:
- Amount
of data generated by WAP applications
- Monitoring
traffic load during browsing
